Grounding Earth Energy for Centering, Balance & Inner Strength

Stand
up straight, placing your bare feet comfortably apart, either stand
on the earth or visualize yourself standing on the earth . . . . .
take several deep breaths to calm yourself and prepare yourself mentally
for this exercise . . . . . close your eyes leaving
a very small opening so that you can just see a little bit of the ground
. . . . . begin to become aware of your breath and
inhale deeply filling the lower abdomen, the diaphragm and finally the
upper chest . . . . . hold the breath at the top
of the inhalation for just a moment and as you begin to exhale, purse
your lips as if you were going to whistle and slowly blow out of the
mouth releasing the air from the upper chest first, then the diaphragm
and finally the lower abdomen . . . . .
As
you are inhaling, imagine that you are drawing into the breath any negativity
within you, as if a magnet were attracting this energy in . . . . .
as you are exhaling imagine that you are releasing these negative particles
that have accumulated within you, sending them out into the Universe
with the intention for transformation & recycling . . . . .
repeat this breathing pattern 7 times . . . . .
Now
begin to imagine that at the bottom of your feet you are growing roots
straight down into the earth . . . . . follow these
roots with your consciousness and imagine what it would be like to travel
through the various layers of the earth . . . . .
imagine what each of the layers would feel like -- soil, rock, water,
slate, limestone, oil beds . . . . .
travel
down as far as you can, going all the way to the center core of the
earth . . . . . travel back up to your physical
body and focus on the root chakra area . . . . .
using your breath, as you exhale, send a beam of light energy all the
way down to the center core of the earth, travelling along with your
consciousness . . . . . once you feel you are connected
to the center core, imagine dropping an anchor . . . . .
now
with the roots from your feet and the beam of energy from your root
chakra grounded in the earth's core, begin to breathe the energy up
into the physical body at these three connecting points . . . . .
with each inhalation, bring the energy higher up the body until you
reach the top of the head (3-4 breaths) . . . . .
on the exhalation, imagine the energy from the earth is filling all
of your cells, all the way down to the sub-atomic level of your being
. . . . . feel within yourself the strength and
power that emanates from the earth . . . . . affirm
to yourself that you are strong, balanced and centered within yourself.
SPECIAL NOTES: If you get dizzy at any time, just open your
eyes a little more and stabilize yourself -- then return to your breathing.
The earth energy provides us with strength and inner power and will
help to bring balance to your energy field. This journey can be practiced
anytime, anywhere, in whatever position you find yourself in at the
moment -- whenever you feel the need to connect to the earth's energy.
We recommend that you start with standing and practice it several
times to anchor the feelings. From there, you can shorten the journey
by simply connecting to the image of the center core and inhaling.
Even when engaged in social activities, you can be doing this exercise
to maintain strength and balance as needed for any situation.
