EXPLORATION #2

Discovering your Purpose

[Print this Page and add to your Journal]

It is important to take time to examine your early development in order to become aware of your personality matrix. You are looking for patterns in your unfolding process as well as talents & skills that have been developed. We recommend that you set aside enough time to complete this exercise in one sitting without interruption to keep the energy moving deeper and deeper. It may take an entire afternoon. After your 1st session, you can come back to it again and reexamine specific areas, but for the 1st session we suggest you go through all the questions to get yourself thinking about these things.

Attain a mild meditative state and let your mind drift . . . ask for your Higher Self to be present to assist you in understanding the higher perspective of these questions and answers.

Go back to when you were born (you may want to ask family members for some input on this) . . . ask your Higher Self to take you through the process of your birth, viewing it from the mental and emotional and physical aspects of the process. Imagine/feel what is was like to be born. Talk to your baby self throughout the process and listen to your earliest thoughts about being born and coming to earth. Ask questions and listen carefully.

What babyhood stories do you remember hearing about yourself. Close your eyes and go back to these stories and explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions associated with the events. Explore them from the perspective of the baby as well as who you are now. Ask the baby questions you want to know about the experiences.

As a child (before school age) what was your playtime like? What toys or games did you enjoy the most? Did you express yourself artistically or musically in any way? How did you express yourself creatively?

Did you have any imaginary playmates? If so, what where they like and what do you remember doing with them. What age do you remember them being with you or around you.

When you started school or day care, what was your interaction like with other children? What was your reaction to your authority figures - teachers, counselors, etc.

If you had brothers or sisters, older or younger, how did you interact with them? Where you a leader, a follower, an instigator, the comic, the quiet one, etc?

If you have family photo albums or films/videos, review them and look deeply into the energy of the images in the person that you were. Read the aura and energy field of you and your family members.

What do you remember about your first friends and how you played together? What stories or events do you remember?

What types of toys & games did you play as you got older?

What do you remember about reading and books? Did you have favorites that you remember? What fairy tales and children stories do you remember the most?

By remembering all these things about your childhood, it will help you to stimulate some of your earliest dreams & visions. Pay particular attention to your dreams this week after you work on this questionnaire as it will bring up thoughts and memories for you to process. Consider keeping a dream journal next to your bed.

Recall all of what you would call negative memories from your childhood through adulthood. List each event separately from birth to now. Ask your Higher Self to tell you what you learned and how the event shifted your personality. Ask your Higher Self what the higher purpose of these events were - why did they need to happen to you. Ask how you would be different today if these events had not happened.

Go through your high school/college years and explore your personality and relationships to others. Were you social, shy, intelligent, smart, funny, etc. Was this similar to early childhood or different?

Review your academic studies and which were easy and which were difficult. What courses did you enjoy and learn easily. Which were too difficult and you avoided or which did you have great difficulty learning, but eventually did. Which subjects came naturally, without much effort for you?

Review all the jobs you have had in your life up to now and determine what you were good or not so good at doing. In what areas were you naturally talented, what skills did you pick up quickly and which took you longer and which ones did you never really learn.

Explore the relationships you have had with mates or lovers and ask yourself why you were attracted to this person in the beginning. If it ended, what changed? What qualities did/do they have that you most admire and which ones bother you the most.

Your Higher Self has always been there with you guiding your life's directions, sometimes using tough Love as a method for getting you to see something. With this awareness and understanding you can view the course of your life's events from the perspective that you have always been in alignment with your purpose.

What issues are you most passionate about in today's world? What issues bother you the most? What issues make you feel like crying and which ones make you angry?

What do you need to eliminate or reduce in your current life (friends, family, activities, events, habits) that stop you from living your dreams. What negative habits are you doing that sabotage you from living on purpose or even beginning the process.

Living Your Dreams - literally look back on your dreams and try to recall the themes that are recurring the most. Examine the ones where you feel the most joy, what are you doing or experiencing during these dreams. Examining the negative dreams, what are the fears you still need to conquer?

The next question is very important to work through, because we often limit ourselves because of the perceived reality that we will never have the money or the physical attributes to do certain things.

Imagine that you had all the money you would ever need and all the resources you would ever need . . . what would you be doing with your time? What would give you the most joy to be doing with your life? As you start to think like this you will eventually run into areas of limitation within your beliefs. Be aware of this and remove the limitation and go deeper. This can take some time to unfold, so let it. Explore it every day for a month and journal your thoughts. When you come up with things you want to do, explore all aspects of it to determine if you already have some of the skills or talents needed and which you will have to develop. Try to remember that you don't have to limit yourself to one lifetime to accomplish a skill. Working towards something is all part of the process, the joy is in the journey.

Repeat this sentence in your meditations until you feel that you clearly have the answer and let it change over time if it needs to: I incarnated here at this time to _____________

List your current skills

List you current talents

List your competencies

List your positive and negative personality traits

Based on the above, what do you need to develop, attract or manifest in order to live in alignment with your purpose?
